The vineyard
It is a very densely spaced vineyard with 6 foot isles and a meter
between plants. We feel this helps control the plant vigor and produces
a rich fruit. This is the first harvest, handpicked by 27 friends and
neighbors. It was a cool, wet year weather wise resulting in a later harvest.
This year we picked on
September 29. The predominate vines bearing fruit were 777, 667
and Pommard clones. |

The wine
This wine has typical varietal aromas and processing bouquets of spicy
red fruits (cherry and red currant), raspberry, Clove, nutmeg, and
Cassis with a round finish.
It has a lighter red color than the 2006 vintages. The tannin
structure is more pronounced, suggesting that this wine should be decanted
for at least 15-20 minutes before consumption.
Food
It pairs with lamb, salmon, pheasant, ham. Dark Chocolate is also a great match with this wine.
Pare with cheese I would suggest a
mild
Cheddar, plain Chevre goat cheese, Roquefort, Feta, Havarti.
