The Vineyard: This bottle comes strictly from the oldest vineyard under the Plum Hill name. The plants were placed in the ground in 2003 giving them some time to reach maturity and their peak. These vines are on a east facing hill which allows it sun exposure most of the day. The vines sit on a steep slope allowing great air flow to keep the disease pressure low as well as the vines happy!

The Winemaking: At Plum Hill we like to let the wine showcase itself. We destemm our Pinot Noir and allow it to ferment on the skins picking up wonderful flavor, aromas, and color. The wine ages in barrels for up to two years, being transferred between barrels at least one time. The wines are then carefully evaluated to determine their placement.

The Wine:  This wine is dark and inky. Coming from the oldest vines there is an earthiness and boldness that comes from age. This wine gives off a bouquet full of dark plum, blueberries, blackberries, brown sugar and even a hint of jam. The taste of this wine is much more bright than the nose with cranberry, raspberry and roses.
