The Vineyard: The Pinot Noir blocks at Plum Hill sit situated close to the Tasting Room on the hillside just north of the bar. The grapes are spaced 8x5 which allows room for them to grow as well as get a tractor down! The vineyard sits between 200-350 feet allowing great airflow as well as drainage for the vines. We have happy plants!

The Winemaking: At Plum Hill we like to let the wine showcase itself. We destemm our Pinot Noir and allow it to ferment on the skins picking up wonderful flavor, aromas, and color. The wine ages in barrels for up to two years, being transferred between barrels at least one time. The wines are then carefully evaluated to determine their placement.

The Wine:  The 2015 was a bright and bold year for the Pinot Noirs, they will all be great for ageing and have a good acid to help age. The nose of this wine is full of bright young cherry, raspberry, rose petal and some slightly earthy tones. The palate on this wine has some cranberry, raspberry, slight meaty characteristics as well as a smoky finish.
