The Vineyard: The Pinot Gris block of the vineyard sits on the northern end with a 10 southern slope exposing the fruit to as much sun as possible. With elevations ranging between 200-400 feet the grapes sit slightly above the valley floor allowing air to flow through the vineyard preventing frost until deep into winter.

The Winemaking: The 2015 vintage was one full of experimentation for RJ. After trying in the previous vintage to get the vanilla out of the oak barrel as he did in 2013, RJ called out Laffort, I wine product company to help him find a way to get some vanilla in his PG. After forming and creating multiple bench trials, RJ and the Laffort team found a tannin that would express vanilla in wine!

The Wine: After attempting to express Vanilla in his wine RJ did it! This wine expresses a bouquet of grapefruit, lemon, a light hint of caramel and flashes of cedar. The mouth feel is full and inviting with notes of lemon, tangerine, blood orange and white peach, finished with a lovely taste of shortbread and vanilla to round out this wine.
